Watson runs off with tail between legs.

Last night, Chris Mathhews of MSNBC's Hardball said he invited Sen. Kirk Watson to come back on the show - and Watson declined.

I guess Watson learned that if you can't run with the big dogs you need to stay on the porch.

Texas State Sen. Kirk Watson is first and foremost an embarrassment to Austin, the state of Texas and Barak Obama.

Not only that, but his response on his blog only highlighted the fact that he should not be in office. There is not much he can do at this point to redeem himself in front of Democratic voters in Texas.

Fortunately, the rest of the people that are actively involved in the Obama campaign, are readily available to provide the details, background and a point to point plan on how we must move forward, to again take moral lead in the world we live in.

I hope Watson is impeached. On a better note it looks like passenger rail in Austin is gaining momentum. The plan also mentions rapid bus. Although I don't see the value in this I've talked to others that do.

Folks, if we want to relieve traffic congestion, cut down on DWIs and improve the quality of life in Austin, rail that doesn't compete with automobile traffic can do it. Toll roads increase congestion and wreck the ecomonmy but well planned rail system relieves it. We need to continue to push CAMPO to ditch toll roads and push them to support transit. METRA works well in Chicago. Business people ride it every day from the suburbs to downtown. MetroLink has much more ridership than estimated in St. Louis. Even though MetroLink isn't turning a profit, it's government owned. It doesn't always have to turn a profit- that's why we have taxes. The noncash value of having metrolink is decreased congestion. Not everything can be measured in $$$. Look what happens when government tries to make a profit- we get stuck with tolls and congestion. Although the rail from Leander to the East Side may be over budget and behind schedule, it's a start, and it will have wireless internet, meaning programmers and lawyers will be "at work" the moment they step on the train.

And I don't care if Watson supports this. He should be impeached anyway for pushing tolls.
