Landowners protest Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC 69)

The above is a great KETK News video about the TTC-69 hearings. And a big article today from the New York Times, "Proposal in Texas for a Public-Private Toll Road System Raises an Outcry".

What's funny about these TXDOT "meetings" with the citizens of each city they plan to STEAMROLL over, is that they really don't mean a squirt of piss to TXDOT!! What the hell is the point? They're not going to listen anyways!! What, did TXDOT think they would have a nice warm reception for all these cities they're raping and pillaging??? HA HA what an ass load of donkey shit!!

If these TxDOT "public hearings" really could make a difference, they wouldn't be letting us have them.

The Town Hall meetings were informative to those that had not been involved before. One thing stands out and speaks loud and clear - - TEXANS don't want the TTC corridors ! Not now, 10 years from now - never. These corridors are planned for the exclusive use of NAFTA traffic ! If they carve up Texas and do it using private/public money financing with Toll Roads and Non-Compete agreements, TEXAS will be held captive for the forseeable future. And, the worst part, is that no problems will be solved. The only benefit that TTC-69 might bring is that the lower valley part will have a major artery for traffic. Who is going to pay the 15 cents per mile (or whatever they may charge by then) and use it regularly. No offense, but that part of Texas isn't known for the "high roller" lifestyle of some other parts of Texas. I mean $15 to make a round trip of 100 miles isn't anything to sneeze at, especially if that person is commuting to a job paying minimum wages. Wake up Texans ! Raise hell with our "representatives' (and I use that word loosely). I think too many of our representatives are only representing people that make major contributions to their funds. And TXDOT needs an enema to clean out the dead wood and bring in some people that will be fiscally responsible and not afraid to be open to the public. Throw out the Texas Transportation Commission and ELECT a single commissioner responsible to the people. Our heroes at the Alamo, and other struggles for freedom would roll over in their graves if they knew we are giving away Texas.

Cut the pessimism. Whether you think TxDOT is listening or not, we must stand up. We have rolled back tolls in Austin, much to the dismay of the snakes. Keep up the fight and keep your head up because we're winning! Every time I drive on Mopac over William Canon, on 360, or to the airport, I win because I didn't drive through a tollbooth. Every time I buy something from a store that had a truck drive on one of these would-have-been tolled roads, I win, and the merchant wins. Everyone wins but the snakes.

I wish more people would get real involved in fighting this thing. People are too lax and uninvolved with telling TxDOT where they can "put this thing". Either get involved or don't complain about the consequences.
