Sal Costello honored with PODER Award.

I've been given a great honor. I was selected to receive a Cesar E. Chavez — "Si Se Pueda" Award, from the great folks at PODER (People Organized in Defense of Earth and her Resources).

I first met with PODER 2 years ago to educate them on how our public highways are being shifted to toll roads, with massive public subsidies. They have made a great impact with speaking out against the "economic racism" of East Austin double tax freeway tolls, thrust upon them by Sen. Kirk Watson and other CAMPO board members.

The "Si Se Pueda" Award is presented to individuals that demonstrate leadership that is changing lives and transforming communities. Past awards have gone to some rare "good egg" politicians such as Rep. Eddie Rodriguez and Councilman Raul Alverez.

I'm truly honored to be in such great company.
