The announcement, coming the same week of the Republican Party Convention in Houston, and weeks before the Sunset Commission public meeting is no accident. Read about it HERE.

Wow! According to that Article, Houston has free loops around the city so Commercial traffic doesnt have to flow directly through the city? What a novel concept! Loops around the city! Who ever heard of such a crazy idea..Its borders on the edge of genius! I can only hope that Austin could see a wonderous loop one day...imagine a road that goes Around the city so you dont have to go through the city...being able to drive N,S,E and W? WOW!!!!

Perry wants to cripple the only blue city in a red state. Tolls- funding the Republican party marketing machine with Democratic voters' money.

Hell yes there was a political reason. Short-term, they didn't want an insurrection at the State Republican convention last week. Mid-term, they (Repub's) don't want to lose any more seats in the Fall election. Long-term, the damn thing AIN'T DEAD. As long as the Draft Environmental Statement (DEIS)doesn't change they can dust it off down the road and bulldoze Farmer Brown's place. All they need is for it to got to Fed's for approval in present form, line up their financing and we're screwed.

No, that thing is not dead ! There are too many people that are naive and take politicians at their word. Years ago, it was not as bad and people trusted their representatives to actually represent them. The only thing the average politician represents are themselves, encouraged by special interest groups to bend this way or that. That lie about TTC-69 was done just to get people to back off in their protests. Unfortunately, many people are celebrating a victory of some sort, while TxDOT and the politicos plot their next move. This will continue on and on until Governor Perry is in office, as he is the sponsor.
