Another HB 3588 mandate to be completed within the next year.

The creation of regional transit operation plans will be one of the last mandates completed with the overhaul of the state’s transportation code passed two sessions ago.

Transit operation plans hardly have the glitz or glamour of the Trans-Texas Corridor or regional toll road systems, but planning for regional transit service will impact dozens of local agencies and tens of thousands of people. The operation plans, mandated under House Bill 3588, require that transportation resources be coordinated across transit authorities, health and human service agencies and workforce commissions.; 8:04 AM, October 20, 2005
