FROM Colleen:

Dear Mr. Costello:

Thanks very much. This is quite fascinating. I don't know why the Fed. Government can't cry monopoly or foreign interlopement or both. There are probably a lot of laws that apply. And congratulations on all your great victories. Looks like round III, and my bet is on you all. 2. Do you know anyone who knows a lot about appropriations? I have a lot of the monies NASCO got under SAFETEA-LU (and under the old TEA-21 and earlier than than under ISTEA (Not Ice Tea but ISTEA.) The trouble is all the congressmen say it hasn't been appropriated--Actually, it has (some of it). It is to be doled out over five years.

Not only are there press releases straight from the horses's mouth, but since SAFETEA-LU was passed in 2005, FY-2006 appropriations were voted, and they definitely included SAFETEA-LU (unless there was a moratorium declared by Congress for that year, and I don't know of any, do you? ) Even the congressmen (well, one) on our side -- his appropriations expert says he didn't see any monies appropriated from SAFETEA-LU by just looking at it on the surface. That isn't what I asked them to do. But if a congressman votes for it, he isn't going to want to admit it since he really opposes the overall scheme.

By the way, I got the newest resolution against NAFTA corridor, NAFTA, NAU et al. Have you see it yet? Virgil Goode introduced it, along with five or six other people. Also Paul and Walter Jones, but Tancredo is missing on this one. If you want a copy I'll forward it to you tomorrow. Anyway, don't you think it would help convince the public this is really happening to see good, solid reporting on appropriations to NASCO, voted by Congress? I do. If you have any suggestions or clues, I would very much appreciate it. I sometimes wish we had an organization as effective as yours up here.

Oh, and all my congressmen continue to deny it, while at the same time sending me letters about the monies they have gotten earmarked and given to KC Smartport (hey, that's part of NASCO).

Thanks again.
Colleen
