The founder of TexasTollParty.com shines a light on the dark corners of special interest boondoggles: Double tax tolls and Trans Texas Corridor tax, toll & debt schemes.
Regarding toll roads: While it is true that they are a source of income for the agency involved, the toll roads are a nuisance, and they create another taxing agency.
We have more than enough taxing authorities now. Why add another one?
Also, like gambling, toll roads are a form of regressive taxation, in that poor and middle-class people have to pay just as much as the wealthy, and most poor people have to drive to work every weekday.
