McKinney Courier-Gazette: TOLL CDA's "It's a money-grab" "it's all done in secret"

I told Collin County Commissioners they would regret voting for tolls – that the state would take their OK and leave them with no say. They didn’t believe me (until now).

Now the Collin County Commissioners are trying to seem like the good guys – they aren’t. They have turned the debate from toll conversion into who is going to run it to distract you from the fact they voted for toll conversion.

County Judge Ron Harris has supported toll conversion all along. Commissioner Hatchell has voted 4 times to convert gas tax funded freeway lanes into toll lanes. Hatchell also heads DFW’s Regional Transportation Council (the MPO for DFW). He could have stopped this. Instead, he was the biggest supporter of toll conversion.

Collin County voters need to vote Harris and Hatchell out of office.

Hatchell’s only opponent – Republican Jeran Akers (http://www.jeranakers.com/) – deserves our vote. He has spoken out against toll conversion and has suggested several alternatives, including letting voters vote for county bonds to finish the last few miles of SH 121.

Harris has two opponents in the Republican primary. Rick Neudorff (http://www.judgerick.com/) and Keith Self (http://www.keithself.com/) are his opponents. Both are much better choices than Ron Harris (read there responses to SH 121 tolling in the Dallas Morning News Candidate quiz at http://www.vgt2004.org/a-dallas06/race-index.go). My nod goes to Rick because he has the best chances of beating Harris.
